Along with Agatha, I too am removing myself from the moderator role today. I also plan to keep close track of the site (using the comment feed) and will participate in future discussions. I’m looking forward to seeing where things go from here.

A few weeks ago, we contributers decided to bring on new folks with the idea that they would eventually take over the reigns of Decommissioned (around the New Year). I personally find it difficult to let the “control” of the blog go… but I feel like I have said everything “big” that I wish to say, and am content to remove myself as a contributer/ moderator. So, I am going to say farewell to these roles. I still plan to comment and will check it every day, but I will no longer be writing posts.

Last Christmas I was in a rut. I wasn’t especially joyful or happy. I felt trapped in the same fears and insecurities I’ve always had. Life felt dull and gray. I didn’t feel like I was living the life God intended or that I ever could.

With the recent discussion on the possible changes in what the Church might look like on God’s Will thread(Sam, Orthodox, Dipping, Miss Current, and others), I will hop on the suggestion to start a separate discussion on that and try to figure out how to start posts and figure out how this blogging thing works. Thanks Agatha and gang for giving me that opportunity, now to figure out how to….

In case you missed it in “Recent Comments”, Larry responded to many of the questions we asked him.

Yes, it’s poking fun at people who leave, but I have to admit this video from The Rock is really funny. Every time I watch it I can’t stop laughing.
In the spirit of some light holiday entertainment and the fun of having a laugh at your own expense…

Alert: This situation has been rectified. Thanks to the person who took the site down and removed the comment to the other person. We appreciate it very much! What follows is the original post:
It has come to my attention that someone has copied portions of our site and made them into a new Xanga site! This person then has posted the Xanga link onto at least one site of the child of a GC leader and added a photo. This person pretended to be a contributer to Decommissioned. This is unacceptable. If you want to make a site about these issues, make your own site. We have no interest in being “the bad guys” any more than we already are.
Please take this Xanga site down and retract any usage of our statements and the statements of others. You are not helping our cause. In fact this kind of activity just makes ex-members look vindictive and people who should not be taken seriously. Oh and you spelled De-commissioned wrong anyway… there are two s’s.

Okay, so you know how when Jesus was being tempted in the desert the Devil tempted him by telling him that he could jump from a cliff (paraphrasing) and the Father will command the angels to save him?
Well, it seems like this is how GC wants people to live.

The De-Commissioned Founding Foursome has invited some new people to join us as moderators. So, you may see posts from people other than Genevieve, Gene, Agatha, and Bertrand in the near future.
We thought it would be a good time to bring in some new moderators, because a few of us are ready to transition out of that role. For all you conspiracy theorists out there, the reasons behind our decisions are a mix of future personal responsibilities and the fact that we just don’t have that much more to say about our experiences in GC*. No, we haven’t been getting late night threatening phone calls from Ames!
